After disabling hibernate option, Windows 7 does not automatically delete the corresponding file named hiberfl.sys from your disk. You can manually remove it from the disk as follows:

1. Click on Start, type CMD, right-click to CMD, select Run as administrator
2. At command prompt type: “powercfg hibernate off”
3. Restart your PC

File hiberfil.sys will be deleted after restart.

Hibernate mode can be enabled again by the following procedure:

1. Click on Start, type CMD, right-click to CMD, select Run as administrator
2. At command prompt type: “powercfg hibernate on”
3. Restart your PC

After restart, Hibernate will be active again.
